James passed away suddenly at Washington Hospital. He grew up in Oakland where he attended Our Lady of Lourdes Grade School, graduated from Oakland High and attended Armstrong Business College. He served honorably in the 82nd Airbourne Division of the Army during the Vietnam War. Jim worked at Ritzman's Shoes on Lakeshore in Oakland, held various sales positions and was a journeyman carpenter before his retirement. Jim enjoyed watching sports, especially the SF Giants, reading, fishing, swapping stories and the Annual Brothers trip to Puget Sound.


He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Margaret Guerin Ritzman and sister Mary Ellen. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria, his children, Allison (Pete) Dennett of Seattle and Matt (Amy) McGlynn of Cameron Park, and grandsons Drew and Mason. His brothers are Richard (Rosie), Gary (Patty), Bill (Julie) and Mark (Jaimmie). Nieces Marianne (Owen), Kathleen (Ed) and Lynn (Jack). Nephews Rob, Dan, and Joe (Tara). A celebration of his life will be held later.

Wow! Sorry to hear about our loss, jim was a wonderful person always had a smile on his face when we would run into each other on lakeshore , we would always catch up!!!!!! My prayers go out to Jims family, he will be missed. Love to all jim tucker

Yeah James was a great guy always had a smile and used to say " come see me Tucker; those kicks are through ", in a nice way never judged me other than a peer. RIP James !!  GT aka cubby
